  • Gov. Regulation Run Amok: 6,125 New Regs. in 90 Days

It’s Friday morning, and so far today, the Obama administration has posted 165 new regulations and notifications on its reguations.gov website.

In the past 90 days, it has posted 6,125 regulations and notices – an average of 68 a day.

    Shear insanity.

Makes me think of the old Guns & Roses song Signs.

We’re no longer free.  Very sad.

  • US Out Of The Top 10 In World Prosperity Index

The Legatum Prosperity Index assessed and ranked the prosperity of 142 countries based on eight sub-categories: economy, entrepreneurship and opportunity, health, governance, education, safety and security, personal freedom, and social capital.

    via Business Insider.

    We are now 12th.

Embarrassing.  No wonder people are leaving in droves.

  • Gov. Can Plant Hidden Cameras In Your Home

This government, our government, a supposedly moderate government of Barack Obama (he has an iPad and a Spotify playlist and likes dogs and is funny on Jay Leno! He must be moderate!) is now claiming the legal right to install surveillance cameras in your home or on your property without a warrant. And is doing so, in some cases.

If they hate us for our freedoms over in Pakistan or wherever, I’m pretty certain the hatred will dry up soon, because this is not freedom. As CNET reported, “Police are allowed in some circumstances to install hidden surveillance cameras on private property without obtaining a search warrant, a federal judge said yesterday.”

The government has evidently lost its mind, as have our federal judges.

    via Business Insider.

Clear 4th Amendment Violation.  Need to get these cases up to the U.S. Supreme Court as soon as possible.

I love this author’s taken on the matter.  It’s clear that we’re not hated for our freedoms.  We have so few left.  We have sold our liberty for the illusion of security and now have neither.

    Very sad.

  • British Terror Cell Wanted to Violate Sharia Law for AK-47s

A British terror cell allegedly planned to buy five AK47 assault rifles by borrowing £100,000 in loans, a court heard.  …

In one conversation recorded by the police the group are discussing how to obtain weapons.

Naseer said that “out there in the market: “You can buy M16 you can buy AK.”

He added: “You can get grenades, you know grenades? Fifteen hundred pounds for one grenade.”

He said: “I’m trying to do that…take out loan.

“Get about 100 grand then you get four five AK’s ready.”  …

Naseer justified attacking non-believers because they have “sex like donkeys”, orgies and took drugs. He said: “They wanna you know have sex like donkeys on the street, they wanna club, act like animals and why shouldn’t we terrorise them, tell me that?”

    via Business Insider.

    Oh where to begin?

For the record, I don’t believe anything about this story.  It’s just too over the top.  I’m a big believer that truth is stranger than fiction but rarely does it play out so perfectly; impossibly perfectly.  Anyway…

It’s common knowledge that Sharia prohibits the fixed or floating payment or acceptance of specific interest or fees (known as riba, or usury) for loans of money.  So it makes me wonder how these Islamists were going to take a loan for the weapons.  Unless of course they are hypocrites.

Next, what are they talking about buying these military grade weapons that are illegal in the UK, and in the US, and well just about everywhere?  How is this possible?  How can someone acquire something that is illegal?

As for the donkeys, I’ll let you draw you’re own conclusions.

  • Obama a Real Contributor to Subprime Loan Failures

President Barack Obama was a pioneering contributor to the national subprime real estate bubble, and roughly half of the 186 African-American clients in his landmark 1995 mortgage discrimination lawsuit against Citibank have since gone bankrupt or received foreclosure notices.

As few as 19 of those 186 clients still own homes with clean credit ratings, following a decade in which Obama and other progressives pushed banks to provide mortgages to poor African Americans.

    via The Daily Caller.

Kudos to The Daily Caller for putting together this incredibly well researched piece about Obama being one of the lawyers who sued Citibank to make sub-prime loans.

That this story is being written in 2012 and not 2008, and by a small independent website and not by any of the major media outlets is a complete indictment of our entire media system.

I can remember when I stopped watching The Daily Show.  It was shortly before the 2008 election and Michelle Obama was the guest.  After she comes out, the first question John Stewart asks is something like, “Tell us something we don’t know about you?” and the crowed goes wild.  It was an sardonic arrow aimed at those who were screaming to anyone who would listen, ‘What do we really know about these people?’

The truth Mr. Stewart, is we knew very little about these people.  We still know very little about these people.  It’s a same that the media didn’t do its job 4 years ago and any time since.  So because you ignored your responsibilities for the last 4 years someone has now produced some facts showing how:

    • Obama sued Citibank forcing it to make bad, sub-prime loans;
    • Many of those loans failed, including nearly half of those plaintiffs in the Obama case;
    • The sub-prime loan failures led to the collapse of the entire mortgage system causing the greatest economic crisis since the great depression.

Mr. Obama help create the problem he inherited.

That is what the press should be reporting.

  • TSA PreCheck System Flawed – No One Surprised

“Using a website I decoded my boarding pass for my upcoming trip.

“It’s all there PNR [passenger name record], seat assignment, flight number, name, etc. But what is interesting is the bolded three on the end. This is the TSA PreCheck information. The number means the number of beeps. 1 beep no PreCheck, 3 beeps yes PreCheck.”

The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) did not respond to a BBC request for a statement, but has previously said: “TSA does not comment on specifics of the screening process, which contain measures both seen and unseen. In addition, TSA incorporates random and unpredictable security measures throughout the travelling process.”

    via BBC News.

As usual the MSM is silent on the farce that is the TSA.

It’s amazing what a complete and udder failure the TSA has become.  From the millimeter machines that pounded you with radiation and made pictures of your naughty bits to the number of TSA employees who have been busted for everything from child porn to stealing laptops it seems that TSA is the symbol for irresponsible government run amok.

Perhaps the greater failure is that the Obama admin has done nothing to correct the issue.

TSA provides nothing but the illusion of security by harassing and abusing law abiding citizens.  It’s a national embarrassment.

  • CPD Brass Wants Tighter Gun Tracking

Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said today that he would like to see gun owners in Illinois have to report when their weapons are stolen, lost or sold – steps he said would lower the number of firearms in the hands of criminals.  …

“We keep trying to pass comprehensive gun legislation,” he added. “And my recommendation is to really start small. The fact is that if there was a requirement to report the loss, transfer or theft of a firearm in the state of Illinois, that would significantly limit the number of firearms in the city of Chicago.”

    via Chicago Tribune.

Media simply reports what the man says as gospel and doesn’t ask any questions.

Please tell us Mr. McCarthy how part one, a “requirement to report the loss, transfer or theft of a firearm” leads to part two, and “significantly limit the number of firearms in the city of Chicago?”

Person A has a gun.  Person A goes on vacation and while gone Gang-Banger B breaks into Person A’s house and steals Person A’s gun.  Person A reports to the police that the gun has been stolen.

First, Person A is going to file a report b/c guns are expensive and he or she is going to want to make the insurance claim that the gun was stolen.

Second, Person A is going to file a report b/c they don’t want the police knocking at their door when the gun is used in a crime.

But just in case that’s not enough…  let’s just say we do create a new law to force Person A to notify the police that the gun was stolen.  Now just exactly what is the police going to do with that information to keep the stolen firearm out of the city of Chicago?

I would really like to know.  Where is the nexus between knowledge of a stolen gun and action that keeps that gun out of the city?

    Can someone please explain?

  • I Made Crain’s Chicago Business

    Forgive me the indulgence:

Dr. El-Tag referred questions to her attorney, James Bosco of Chicago. The case is about “restricting patients’ access to a doctor of their choice,” Mr. Bosco said in a statement.

“That the plaintiff Dr. Koziol believes patients would choose Dr. El-Tag over him is evidence enough of Dr. El-Tag’s reputation for excellence,” he wrote.

    Pretty funny.

  • Censorship: This is How it Begins

Spain’s government is drafting a law that bans the photographing and filming of members of the police. The Interior Ministry assures they are not cracking down on freedom of expression, but protecting the lives of law enforcement officers.  …

The new Citizen Safety Law will prohibit “the capture, reproduction and editing of images, sounds or information of members of the security or armed forces in the line of duty,” said the director general of the police, Ignacio Cosido. He added that this new bill seeks to “find a balance between the protection of citizens’ rights and those of security forces.”

The dissemination of images and videos over social networks like Facebook will also be punishable under the legislation.

    via RT.

“Oh it could never happen here.”  That’s what the Spanish used to think.  Now look at them.

Note the language of the law. It’s the Citizen Safety Law.  Bullshit!  It has nothing to do with the safety of citizens.  It about making sure that people do not record the unlawful acts of their own government.

In case you don’t know, Spain is going through a tough time right now because for years and years they spend more money than the had.  They go too far into debt and now they have to pay the bills.  The austerity measures are not very popular.  So people have been taking to the streets.  The government don’t like that.

Keep this in mind as we start having to pay down our own debt.  Something is going to have to give… People are going to take to the streets.  There may very well be some violent confrontations between people and police.  Those confrontations need to be public.  Not limited to what the government, a/k/a The Ministry of Truth, tells us what happened.

It can happen there… it can happen here.  Prepare yourself.

  • CCW in Illinois? Without State Action?

In the only state that doesn’t let its residents walk around with concealed firearms, a northwest Illinois county could become the testing ground for gun enthusiasts who want a clean sweep for their Second Amendment rights.  …

The county has scheduled a pair of hearings this month to determine whether it should allow people to carry guns within Winnebago borders. The proposed ordinance – which was written after officials received a petition with more than 11,000 signatures this year – would contradict state law.  …

Webster, a local tree nursery owner and a longtime National Rifle Association member, wrote the proposed ordinance himself after receiving the petition in August. It would let people carry guns in Winnebago if they had proper training and possessed a Utah permit, which is recognized in neighboring Midwestern states and has no residency requirements.

    via Chicago Tribune.

People are clever.  Even in Illinois.  I have a Utah CCW, and a Florida.  I also have a few other tricks up my sleeve which means I’m generally able to carry most of the time.  But this is good news for law abiding citizens of Winnebago County.

This sort of movement could move statewide.  I can see a result whereby it was legal to carry in some counties but not all.  Such a decision would force the state to act.  This is basically what happened in Ohio, California, and few other states prior to those states creating their own CCW laws.

Going to be confusing for awhile here.  But this is a step in the right direction.
